Installing the TruFirm Bluetooth Board In order for a TruFirm meter to interface with the FieldScout Mobile App, the meter must be equipped with a compatible Bluetooth radio board. Older TruFirm models had a Bluetooth radio that is only compatible with the USGA TruFirm Android app. The Mobile App requires a Bluetooth SMART radio. See figure 1 for a comparison of the two boards. This document illustrates how to remove an existing board (if necessary) and how to install a new board. 1. Remove the 4 front screws and take off the faceplate. 2. The connection pins for the board are on the left side of the housing (fig. 2). 3. If a radio board needs to be replaced, slide it down and off the pins. 4. Align the first pin of the new radio board with the first hole on the socket and then rotate the sock- et so all pins are lined up. Slide the board up and completely onto the pins. 5.
