Vol. 43, No. 2 “For The Buckeye Fan Who Needs To Know More” Sept. 16, 2023 McCord, Harrison Display Connection In Rout Of YSU By BRADEN MOLES Buckeye Sports Bulletin Editor It looked as natural as any connection in college football when Ohio State quarter- back Kyle McCord hit wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. for a 71-yard touchdown early in the Buckeyes’ 35-7 win over Youngstown State on Sept. 9, and it was only the first of what will likely be many, many scores be- tween the duo this season. But the path for both McCord and Har- rison to succeed at Ohio State – alongside each other, no less – was forged long be- fore either arrived in Columbus. McCord and Harrison were both members of Ohio State’s 2021 recruiting class – a group that is quickly becoming the cornerstone of this current batch of Buckeyes – and came from the same high school, cutting their teeth at St. Joseph’s Preparatory School in Philadel- phia.
