Before the Ohio State football team could turn its attention to 2012, the 2011 season took one more bite.
Twelve months and 11 days marked by repeated revelations of NCAA violations, dealings with an out-of-control
booster, the exit of a national championship head coach
and more losses than the previous three regular seasons
combined came to an end Jan.
2 with a 24-17 loss to Florida
in the Gator Bowl.
A program that was built over the past 11 seasons on winning with fundamental football suffered two special teams
breakdowns and a pair of turnovers, sending a star-crossed

“It’s been tough,” senior center Mike Brewster said.
“It
would seem like thing after thing after thing for 12 months.
I’m not going to miss 2011.
”
Classmate DeVier Posey was blunt when asked what he
will remember about his senior season, Ohio State’s first
losing campaign since a 4-6-1 mark in 1988.
