Walk to the tourist information board , and the starting point signpost in the courtyard of the Espace Mandela Capitelle or orri (av. Dr. Torreilles/D117). An alternative start is possible from Calce*. In older times, the shepherds from the village of Calce used to follow this path to take their sheep to drink in the Agly river (near Estagel), the life source for the entire valley. Today, vine stocks have replaced livestock on this ancient herders’ route. This limestone track offers many panoramic views across the varied landscapes of the Agly valley (valleys and hills, Pyrenean peaks, Roussillon plain, etc.).
