Park in the car park near the cooperative wine cellar. Sign on the D9 to the right of Tautavel the tasting cellar (near the stairs). The Far Tower (Tour del Far) is hard work – but well worth it! 400 m of difference in altitude on a rocky and sometimes dangerous trail when battered by the Tramontane. This short route demands stamina and only the sure-footed will be able to cross its small overhangs, and to tackle the narrow, final section before the pass and the scree below the summit. Once you reach the top of the promontory, you will enjoy a 360° panoramic view, from the Mediterranean to Mount Canigou. Hiking boots recommended. Heritage Museum.
