PRESS RELEASE March 18, 2024 GLOBAL DEEPTECH COMPANY CAILABS ENJOYS RAPID GROWTH AS PHOTONICS FOR SPACE SECTOR BOOMS • Cailabs, a world leader in laser communications, has enjoyed rapid growth in recent months, seeing an +113% year on year increase in new contracts for its Optical Ground Station line of products, as well as +180% rise in orders for its laser material processing product line. • Cailabs is involved in several projects, including Obs2OGS, a ground-breaking ESA- supported Greek initiative aimed at the establishment of three optical ground station (OGS) sites, and “Project Corossol”, which aims to provide connectivity services to low-Earth orbit satellite operators. • Cailabs opened an office in Washington, D.C. in September. • Experienced CEO, Jeff Huggins, joined Cailabs as President of its US arm at the end of 2023 • Laser technology has been in the headlines often lately, with SpaceX, Amazon and the Dutch TNO announcing successful laser usage.
