Pedagogical trends and pedagogical research in current challenges. When addressing pedagogical trends, a wide spectrum of elements that accompany the teaching and learning processes is walked. In this sense, it is important to recognize the main contributions of these pedagogies in educational and social spaces, where the interest of this essay is launched, in its first part. For its part, a second interest is aimed at recognizing the contributions of pedagogical research in self-learning processes. The pedagogical tendencies can be recognized, where "These currents constitute the current discourses on the problem of the formation of man, central object of the pedagogical action" (Suárez, 2000, p.42), this is how a series of interests is identified current educational programs that guide human formation, guide learning and direct classroom tasks, but also recognize the need for an educational transformation and how it should be adapted to current times and challenges.
