February 2021 February 2021 Industrious … “working energetically and devotedly” This month we are celebrating the launch of an excellent book compiled by our Letchworth Local History Research Group. The book is titled Industrial Letchworth: The First Garden City, 1903-1920. It has taken the LALG group four years of meticulous research to document the town’s important industrial origins, from printing and publishing, to motor manufacture, foundries, clothing and pioneering cinematic companies. Industrious LALG We can also proudly celebrate the industrious past, present and future of Letchworth Arts & Leisure Group. 2020 saw us grow the number and range of activities, including talks, virtual tours and concerts, online for now but with plans for a mix of online and in-person in the future. We are also working with new partners to increase our diversity, promoting arts and leisure to the widest possible audience. We always welcome ideas and offers of help and respond
