We want gravity to pull the water to the roots and no deeper. ➢ One has to use the same probe to establish the numbers as one used to run algorithm. ➢ Why was 6 hours chosen for irrigation duration? Watching the chart, we determined that the percolation rate of this particular soil dictated that a 6 hour interval would allow the water to percolate through to the 12 inch level readily.
