Making Jesus happy When we live a beautiful relationship of friendship and affection with a person, we want to see them happy, to make them feel that we care about them and that we think about them. In fact, we know that that person loves us too and is pleased to feel loved and cared for by us. This is also what happens in our relationship with Jesus. He likes to feel loved and asks for a personal, very unique relationship with each person. He wants to receive affectionate words and gifts, to converse intimately or simply to remain in silence with his/her beloved. When he sees that the beloved, is going through a time of aridity and indifference towards him, he waits for the opportune time to rekindle the flame of affection and arouse again the desire to "give him taste": Finding no other remedy, I withdrew into solitude at the foot of a crucifix.
