News from the communities of the Doon Valley Issue 24 March/April 2022 FREE SMALL VILLAGE BIG HEART In Rankinston, the local community really pulled together during the COVID pandemic. Volunteers who worked, and are still working, to ensure members of the community were kept safe and well have been fondly named the Food Fairies by Rankinston locals. Isobel, who volunteers with the group, said: “The Food Fairies came about because at the beginning of COVID we started up a community larder. We’ve now got the larder fully up and running - it’s like a mini shop but all at reduced prices.
