The person with dementia sees a pet as a companion. 4. The person with dementia often unloads their thoughts to the pet as they see them as a confident 5. Dogs especially can sense danger and can alert the person by barking. 6. Cats and dogs are cuddly and therefore comforting. 7. Pets are often seen as a therapy. 8. Fish are very calming and people with dementia often find them a great comfort just by sitting and looking at a fink tank. 9. Budgies are chirpy and happy souls by and large; this can only be for the betterment of the person with dementia. 10. Overall pets of any nature form a bond that humans can’t form with the person with dementia.
