ISLE OF MAN STEAM PACKET COMPANY: MANXMAN ARTWORK COLLECTION THE BRIEF Isle of Man Steam Packet is excited to be commissioning a curated artwork collection to go on permanent display on board its new vessel, Manxman. The collection is to be a celebration of Isle of Man’s creative output, heritage, and community. We therefore want to put artwork commissions out to tender to locally based artists, who are best placed to tell the story of our island. We see this as a fantastic opportunity for local artists to reach a global audience on board Manxman. The overarching theme of the collection is to tell the story of Isle of Man, be it the archaeology, folklore, literature, flora and fauna… There is a lot to take pride in! Community engagement is also a very important part of the project. We’d love you to include in your proposal how you would involve the local community. This could be partnering with local schools to create original poetry that would be integrated in the artwork, or engaging
