DeBary Mayor Clint Johnson has been advised, in no uncertain terms, to pipe down. A last minute item was added to the Sept. 3 DeBary City Council special meeting agenda. It read: “Discussion/Possible Action on Mayor’s Behavior.” Prompted by several instances of outspokenness on social media and in other forums about some of his fellow council members and their decision making, the matter was expedited after Mayor Johnson’s outburst at a Team Volusia meeting. Announcing he was not at the Team Volusia meeting to represent DeBary, but was acting as “a free agent for logic,” Mayor Johnson called his peers on the dais, “a closed-minded, short-sighted council,” prone to obstructing growth in the city. He said in eight months as mayor, he’s “grown jaded by the rhetoric” and summed it all up with “Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn.” The statements came on the heels of a 32 council vote last month to prevent development of a race track and card room in the city, a project the mayor pushed h
