Cleaning campaigns in Estonia-caring about the environment. Kirke and Armin have to join their classmates and clean the walls. In Estonia there’s a tradition to work together a least once a year. This custom to help each other with harder work originated from olden times, and it’s been done by the people of the entire village or just family members. Today one of the most popular campaign is the project “Teeme ära” ( Let’s do it! ). This civic-led mass movement began in Estonia in 2008 when 50,000 people united together to clean up the entire country in just five hours. Nowadays it has spread into 112 different countries all over the world.13,8 million people have joined Estonians to clean up illegal waste. There are great plans that on September 8, 2018, during the World Cleanup Day, people in 150 countries will stand up against the global trash problem, making it the biggest positive civic action the world has seen.
