April 2022 | Volume 8 NEWS FROM THE STREETSInternational Day for Street Children 12th April 2022 Every year on 12th April, children that live on the streets globally, and the organisations and governments that support them, celebrate the International Day for Street Children. This is a special day that celebrates the strength and resilience of street connected children around the world, whilst giving them a chance to make their voices heard and share their experiences. "News From the Streets" is a newspaper written and created by children living and working on the streets of Jinja, Uganda. Our theme this year is 'Unlocking Potential - creating a world where no child has to live on the streets'. This fits in to the global theme of “Focusing on creating specialised solutions to the challenges of life for the street connected children and recognition of front line street workers for the great work they do to support these children''.
