SEARCHING FOR JUSTICE AND PEACE WITHIN THE SAINT JOSEPH VICARIATE IN THE AMAZON (PERU) Aware of the principle that was delivered fiercely during the IV Latin American Conference in Santo Domingo, which states that there is no authentic evangelization without human promotion, the missionaries of the Saint Joseph Vicariate in the Amazon, undertook a major social project in their Vicariate. It consists of coordinating social-pastoral services to create an indigenous Church and to ensure that the indigenous and local communities, from their Amazonian culture, discover Christ as Saviour and promoter of a caring society. From the very beginning, the missionaries of our Vicariate have supported in different ways, the protection of human rights in every aspect, because our Amazon is a place of exploitation and marginalization (a fierce extractivism that destroys the environment and pollutes rivers, illegal logging, drug trafficking, human trafficking, abandonment by the State, poverty and lack
