Heather Yeakley UWRT 1102 Instructor: Fran Voltz 15 October 2014 Journal Entry #8: Midterm Reflection Letter I took AP English both my junior and senior year in high school. Both years, the class was extremely reading and writing intensive. We were assigned summer readings as well as a portfolio project that included about ten three to five page essays. During the school year we typically had fifty pages of reading a night as well as a five to seven page paper due about once a month. What I am getting at is that two of my high school English classes were very reading and writing intensive, and there was structure. The goal for my junior year was to improve writing skills more so than reading, and for senior year was to improve reading skills more so than writing (we also studied poetry in depth my senior year). I imagined that college English/writing would require a similar amount of work if not more. I think that the class is going well; it just is not what I expected at all. I cannot
