On Saturday’s trip to Ellis Island, I tried to take an immigrant perspective by looking at
places as though I would be seeing them for the first time. I tried to take a hopeful perspective
and attempted to feel as though I was excited to be starting a new life in America. I made an
effort to capture many different angles and viewpoints of the first sign of America and freedom
that immigrants would have seen upon entering Ellis Island.
