Philadelphia Accident Attorneys Weigh in On Dangers of Distracted Pedestrians
Along with the growing trend of people texting while driving, the trend of pedestrians who text
while they walk is also reaching new heights. According to a recent study, texting pedestrians are
four times less likely to obey traffic lights, look before crossing the street and cross at the
appropriate place. Pedestrian texters also spend an average two seconds longer crossing an
intersection, which increases the risk of being hit by an automobile. According to the
Philadelphia accident attorneys at Rizio, Hamilton & Kane, P.C., texting isn’t the only activity
pedestrians are taking part in when walking.
