A MONTHLY LNG JOURNAL PUBLICATION November 2014 LNGNorth America Woodfibre LNG Export, a subsidiary of Singapore-based Pacific Oil & Gas Ltd., plans to export 2.1 mtpa of Canadian LNG, if it decides by the second quarter of 2015 to go ahead with the $1.6billion project. In late September the Woodfibre LNG partners, backed by Indonesian billionaire Sukanto Tanoto's RGE Group, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Guangzhou Gas Group covering nearly half of its planned annual output. Under the contract, Woodfibre will provide the Chinese gas distributor with 1 million tons of LNG per year from its British Columbia facility over a 25-year period, starting in 2017. “We looking at Guangzhou as a ‘baseline buyer’ to offtake major volumes on a long-term basis and we’ll sell additional sales into the spot market,” Byng Giraud, VP Corporate Affairs, Pacific Oil & Gas at Woodfibre told LNG Journal.
