The BC Wildfire Service re- ported 17 new fires on July 18, with five caused by lightning and 12 being human caused. There has been a total of 1,135 fires in the province since April 1 that have consumed 275,523 hectares of land. The Kamloops Fire Centre has dealt with the most fire activity, with 346 fires burning 102,091 hectares of land.
