There is also a lot of fun to be had at the 2016 B.C. Gold Pan- ning Championship in Enderby this weekend. This family event May 20-22 at Riverside Park has free ad- mission, lots of low-priced fun games and activities, game spec- tator events, music, raffle draws, a silent auction and more. All prizes are small gold nuggets. The event starts Friday night with the metal detecting com- petition and there is a pancake breakfast at the Lions gazebo on Saturday and Sunday starting at 7 a.m. for $5. You can try your hand at pan- ning and keep the gold you find; take part or watch the panning competitions for different ages and abilities; compete in the ban- nock baking contest; have fun with activities like the dirt toss, claim staking, gold rush and pan toss; or come down and enjoy some music in the evenings.
