Grindrod celebrates its rural village spirit with the
time-honoured tradition of a summer party on Saturday, August 9th and Sunday morning, August 10th.
Early each morning of Grindrod Days, neighbours, friends and families can enjoy a start-of-theday opportunity to sit down together for a meal, as the
pancake breakfast begins at 8 am. It continues at the
Grindrod Hall until 11 am both mornings.
Following the pancake breakfast, folks are invited
to view the flower show. There everyone is a flower
judge.
During Grindrod Days, a weekend chore becomes
a weekend’s competitive sport -- take in a few lawn
tractor races. They take place Saturday, two races per
half hour beginning at 9 am. Sure beats sitting at home
watching the lawn grow.
Tug-of-War competitions, those low-tech games of
strength testing, have a place in an agricultural festival
such as Grindrod Days. The competitions begins at 10
am. Loud cheering is expected.
