Alpha Psi Rodeo
The 48th
Annual Alpha Psi Rodeo will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2013 on Sandhill Road,
behind Good Ol’ Boys Restaurant.
Origin
In 1965 the brothers of Alpha Psi Fraternity of Veterinary Medicine began the tradition of the
Alpha Psi Rodeo, then called the Round Up. Originally, the event was meant for only members
of Auburn University’s College of Veterinarian Medicine. Vet students would gather each spring
and participate in an amateur rodeo to combat the rigorous demands of Auburn University’s vet
school. As the popularity and reputation of the event grew, the Rodeo became available to
everyone and was held at the Auburn University Block and Bridle Arena across from the College
of veterinary medicine.
In 1982 the university informed the Theta Chapter of Alpha Psi that it was no longer permitted to
