The Night of April 9th, 1912.
Tomorrow, April 10th, my husband, soon-to-be-born child, and wellknown friend Madeleine Astor will be boarding the Titanic to travel
home to America. My spouse, Lucian Philip Smith, and I are cutting
our honeymoon short in order to celebrate the arrival of our first
child. Although we won’t be able to reach all of our destinations, we have
already arrived and traveled through Egypt, the Middle East, and
Europe. Just in the past days, we have been through Brindisi, Nice,
Monte Carlo, Paris, and are now here in Cherbourg, awaiting the
supposedly “unsinkable” ship. Although everyone seems to be buzzing about
it, I have my suspicions. Though, how can I be frank when there is a child
on the way and the great ship to be ridden? And in first class too,
residing in our reserved cabin of C31 where luxuries await.
I must say this honeymoon has been just fabulous. Lucian did a
wonderful job choosing the locations and purchasing everything we’ve
