I am ever so glad to be a first class passenger on the great Titanic ship. Sometime in February,
A fortune teller approached me and warned me that with travel by means of sea is dangerous for me. ‘You
will lose everything but your life.’, I remember him saying. I didn’t believe a word, for when I gave the
pitiful thing money he scampered away like a rat into the sewers. I know that it is pure coincidence that I
travel by sea now, and I have no worries. I will be fine. As will my family. More, on my mind is my dear
Charles Allen, who proposed only recently. We are engaged, and I look forward to the wedding. Traveling
with me are my parents: Mark and Mary Fortune, my two sisters, Ethel Flora and Mabel, and my brother,
Charles Alexander Fortune. We have been informed that we will stay in cabins C-23, C-25, and C-27. The
titanic is the greatest ship to be build yet, I rest assured we will be in perfect safety in the luxurious upper
class.
