When purchasing a used vehicle it is important to get as much background information on the
vehicle as possible. This includes obtaining a full report from carfax.com and viewing all of the
details. The report includes items such as repair histories, accidents, damage reports and recall
information. You will need to purchase the report in order to see all of the details. This is a onetime fee. If you are shopping around, it is suggested that you purchase a 30-day pass which will
give you enough time to compare several vehicles.
To start using the carfax website you will enter either the VIN (vehicle identification number) or
the license plate number. This looks up the specific vehicle that you are inquiring about. You will
then order, or purchase, the report. Once the purchase is complete, you can immediately print out
the report.
