Once your initial treatment is complete, you can ask for your name to be placed on a recall list for ongoing care. To ensure your oral health is maintained, a routine dental check-up is recommended yearly for everyone who is eligible. If you experience a dental emergency while wait- ing for a routine assessment appointment, you can access services via an emergency appointment. Emergency appointments generally have a ‘1 problem at a time, 1 tooth at a time’ policy. Emergency dental care covers the following conditions or situations: bleeding in the mouth that will not stop. (e.g. gum irritation) swelling of the face from a tooth infection. recent injury to the teeth (e.g. broken tooth, loose or missing filling). significant pain (e.g. from tooth decay) If you have any kind of dental emergency you should contact Queensland Health Ora
