ocal government units (LGUs) from Lanao del Sur believe there is a real opportunity to be seized
in the upcoming Bangsamoro political entity to enhance their roles and improve their relations
with the new regional government set to replace the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao
(ARMM) in 2016.
Lanao del Sur LGUs discussed policymaking in the ARMM and the proposed Bangsamoro at the
IAG-UNICEF roundtable in Cagayan de Oro and reiterated their call for a more inclusive forging of the
Bangsamoro if the goal is to entrench sustainable peace and development in the Muslim region.
The LGUs also revisited the most pressing issues experienced by their respective constituents
and came up with recommendations they hope the Bangsamoro Transition Commission (BTC) will
consider in the drafting of the Bangsamo
