STATION CUTSFRONT DESK TO CLOSE AT HEMEL POLICE STATION Hemel Hempstead police station’s front desk has been closed as part of a cost cutting measure. Hertfordshire Constabulary confirmed that from August 10 the station’s desk would be one of many across the county to be axed as the force looks to make millions of pounds worth of savings. Full front counter services were retained at just four stations across the county - in Hatfield, Hoddesdon, Stevenage and Watford.
