The Watson Bird Centre project
has passed a key milestone with
the purchase of part of Barone, the
Watson family home.
This means that plans to create a centre in Dalry
to celebrate the work of the famous bird artist
Donald Watson and his son Jeff, a leading environmentalist who produced the definitive study of the
golden eagle, can now go ahead.
This announcement comes four years after the
project’s director, Roger Crofts, first launched
the idea of creating a focal point in Dalry. He believes that with two highly successful Watson Bird
Festivals, the establishment of the academically
respected Watson Raptor Science Prize and, now
the purchase of part of Barone, the whole project
