women who recover defendants out on bail in the state of Florida are licensed bondsmen, often
referred to as "pickup guys" or "fugitive recovery agents.

Call the Florida Department of Financial Services at 850-413-3137, ext.
1101, to find out if you are
qualified to become a licensed bail bondsman in Florida.

Visit the Florida Security Agents Association (see Resources) website to enroll in its 120-hour course.
The classes usually take two to three weeks to complete.
During this time you will receive training
from law enforcement and bail bond agent instructors.
As of 2011, the course fee was $150.
