Every single day we are bombarded with tons of ‘information’.
We have
television, the Internet, smart phones, radio broadcasts and the printed
media.
We have politicians, sales ads, preachers and everyday
acquaintances, all competing for our attention with all sorts of claims.
Now given this daily dose of information overload how do we separate
the good from the bad? How do we know what to believe and what to reject
or at least question?
Easy, all you need is to have your very own BS detector, a mental
device that will allow you to evaluate the quality of the things that people
say.
It will require you to take some time to memorize but once installed it
will serve you well for years to come.
We will use the format developed by Professor James Lett, the famous
FiLCHeRS.
Each consonant in this word represents one of the elements of
the BS detector.
