are adorned with signature wheel trims is so that others who see the vehicle can recognize the make
and model right away.
The initial functional wheel trims were called dust or grease caps and they had threads to fit them to
the center of the hub.
Most of the cars now have the wheel trim with the snap on design center cap,
these were first introduced around 1932 for the wire wheels.
