n every great career, there is always a game-changing event
that alters its trajectory from the ordinary to the extraordinary.
For d.A. weibring, that event was the creation of
Bridlewood golf club.
After years of being mentored by his longtime friend Byron
Nelson, the former PgA Tour pro and dallas resident hung out
his shingle as a golf course designer in 1987. But it was not until
a decade later that he built his first signature course and put his
name on the map.
Soon after Bridlewood opened in 1997 with a 4-Star rating from
Golf Digest, weibring was hired to build the TPc at deere run in
Silvis, ill. Since then, he and partner Steve wolfard have built and
renovated courses all over the world.
So, what was it about Bridlewood that made it a game-changer
and teed up weibring with a steady stream of projects the past 16
years?
