journalism protégées to mourn his
passing.
he was president of the Texas
Daily newspaper Association,
served three times on the Pulitzer
Prize jury, editor, co-publisher
then vice-chairman of the Dallas
Times Herald.
Before that, he was
managing editor and executive
editor of the Dallas Morning
News.
That would have kept most
men fairly busy, but McKnight
also served on many charitable
committees and boards, including
the Dallas Salesmanship Club
and Dallas golf Association.
