the Sommer Trust, had just whipped Beal in
court, persuading a New York state appellate
judge to toss out Beal’s $90 million breach of
contract suit.
What’s more, Musoff’s win sent
a message to other distressed-debt buyers,
warning them not to bring suits to gain an
advantage over other members of distresseddebt syndicates.
