The Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission is pleased to present this budget for the 2012-2013 fiscal year. This budget represents the fifteenth consecutive year that the Commission has relied on self generated revenue, transfers of available funding between funds, and the use of available fund balance to avoid an increase in money received through property taxes. We are pleased to announce that in this present year we were awarded the
Aaa bond rating, the highest a government can receive by Moodys. Our overall budget goal this year is to take the necessary actions in order to get the public utilizing the land that was purchased through the half-cent sales tax referendum as well as the land we purchased on our own.
