Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead
This three week summer school session, the main text we read was the play titled
“Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead” We also watched a film on the play, which was
really hard to understand and really difficult for me to read and watch, because we are
asked to identify the things that are so random and unknown, and to me it just seemed
like a game, someone trying to mess with my head.
Well im going to use what I
remember from the film and what I read in the text and try and explain what this story
means to me.
Rosencrantz, Guildenstern, the names are even somewhat difficult to pronounce, but
im glad I know how to say it.
Well, the story starts out as Rosencrantz is playing “heads
or tales” with a coin.
He does this over, and over, and over again, only for the coin to
land on the heads side 170+ times.
That seemed weird to me.
What are the odds, that a
two sided coin just so happens to land on the one side over and over again? It makes
