Mentoring Program Holds
Family Dinner
The Grand Isle County Mentoring program held its first mentoring family dinner on
Wednesday, April 6.
Forty participants met for a pot luck supper to get to know each
other and celebrate the new mentoring program.
There are now 19 mentor matches
in the GIC school- based mentoring program.
This program was launched in October,
2009 to provide mentors for any student in Grand Isle County Schools who would like
to participate.
Mentoring is proven to be a wonderful thing for both the children and for the mentor-- 96% of existing mentors say they would recommend it to others.
Please consider
being a mentor if you can volunteer for one hour a week during the school day.
Fall
2010 recruitment is now underway.
Orientation, training and ongoing support is provided for all mentors.
