Index notes: The index for both Volumes 1 and 2 is contained in a single alphabetical sequence in a manuscript bound in Volume 1. This document is a copy. Entries have been added for material on four pages between pages 24 and 25 and on pages 451 to 466, previously un-numbered and un-indexed. The page preceding the index contains a pamphlet: "Shakespeare in relation to Ye Guildford Municipal Election", 1886, and In Memoriam card for the Earl of Beaconsfield (Disraeli), 1881.
The letters, LM, following a name indicate a Life Membership (of the Guildford Institute).
