Kendrick In Jesus’ time, the heavy hand of both Roman rulers and Jewish religious leaders weighed down the people with ever more laws and taxes. Most of them were poor, without hope, and their burdens seemed insurmountable. They did not feel special, nor blessed in their difficult daily lives. Everywhere Jesus went, multitudes followed to hear the “Good News” of the Kingdom of God and His reign and rule in the lives of those who came to Him. Their hearts swelled as He told them that, as God’s children, they could rely on His grace and blessings in their everyday life, without having to buy sacrifices or follow exacting rules required for worship in the Jewish faith. Jesus made people, who felt unloved and insignificant, understand that they were important and beloved to their Heavenly Father. Through faith in God, they could knowmorejoy,peaceandhappiness in their troubled lives than they ever dreamed. He
