March2015 -TheChristianJournal-Page1 God Comes ThrouGh In hIs TImInG By Lynn Hare Do you have God-whispered promises that haven’t come to pass? God had them in mind when He sent His Son to the earth. Jesus said, “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have . . . come . . . to fulfill them.” Matthew 5:17 To “fulfill” means to “bring to actuality” or to “make real.” Old Testament prophets spoke of the Beloved Messiah. How did Jesus fulfill prophecies in the Old Testament? He was born of a virgin (Isaiah 7:14) in Bethlehem (Micah 5:2). He was a descendant of Abraham (Genesis 12:1-3), Isaac (Genesis 17:19), Jacob (Genesis 17:19), and David (2 Samuel 7:12, 13). He would teach in parables (Psalm 78:1-2).
