footsteps of honorable coaching examples.

in the United States, 89-yearold Ralph McKinzie, walked
back onto McKinzie Field for the
1983 football season because he
still believes he has a job to do.
Numerous championship titles,
four Hall of Fame honors and the
respect of hundreds of men whose
lives he helped shape in his 62 years
of coaching, have not left McKinzie
complacent.
One of his former
players, who still highly regards
"Coach Mac" and remembers his
words as inspirational, is the U.
S.
president, Ronald Reagan.
But Mac
influenced countless other less celebrated men who became little
heroes.
One of those was his son,
James McKinzie.
As a player, Jim won AllAmerican honors at Northern lllinois University where he developed
