ABSTRACT.
Beyond the visible and practically unchanging elements, the
city constitutes the encounter between a set of elements related to the
new space-time.
Today, we want to study the notion of interface for the
understanding of the contemporary city.
What is the influence of
“virtual/real” and the immateriality established by contemporary media on
the production of space? What results in the built space from the new
modes of communication and the notion of interface for users? To answer
these questions, we propose to analyze the project Interface-Gare du Flon
conducted between 1994 and 2001 in Lausanne (CH) by Bernard Tschumi.
Our argument will be developed from theoretical references, choreography
and video montages.
We will take a look at this project to analyze through
the moving image the dynamic of opposites.
