Gura Humorului
• It is placed in the middle of our town, next to the Saints Constantin and
Elena Church
• Here you can admire the statue of Olga Kobyleanska, a writer which was born
in Gura Humorului in 1863, in the family of a greek-catholic clerk. Those times,
Bukovina (our region) was under Austro- Hungarian Occupation.
She spent her childhood and teenage years in this town. In 1891 she moved in
Cernowitz, where she lived for the rest of her life.
