Voronet Monastery
Voronet Monastery was built in 1488 by Stephen the Great.
The monastery’ s church,
with its ’’St.
George’’ religious festival, is a synthesis of Byzantine and gothic elements in its
own manner, brilliantly ingenuous, resulting a new very original style the Moldavian
architectonic style.
The interior painting of Voronet was made during Stephen the Great’ s ruling and was
inspired by Byzantine iconography and bearing the print of the Stephanian’ s artistic époque (a
sober, concentrate, grandiose style reducing up to essential the images and the expressions).
