I live in a little town called Gura Humorului,
situated in Suceava county.
Its name comes from the
river confluence between Moldavia River and the
Humor Brook.
One legend says the Tartars had given
the name of this little river; they named it “Homor”
which in their language meant “fast”.
In our town there are: a museum, three schools,
a high school, a hospital, a fire station, a police
station, churches, markets, a Town Hall, swimming
pools, parks, etc.
People live in blocks of flats as well as in houses.
In 2011 there were about 13000 inhabitants.
On our roads there still can be seen wooden
carts pulled by one or two horses; they are usually
used by peasants.
A railway crosses our town linking
the east part of our country with the west one.
Not very far from the center tourists can visit The
Holy Voronet Monastery.
If you want, you can see all our beautiful places
from the top of ”Şoimu” Slope.
I really like my town!
