Madhya Pradesh Rural Livelihoods Project works with decentralised government institutions and Gram Sabhas (village councils) to bring affordable financial services to the poorest rural villages. Being able to save, borrow, take out insurance and transfer money inexpensively is helping the poor to weather difficulties and take the first steps out of poverty.
MPRLP works to eliminate rural poverty by empowering rural households in nine mainly tribal districts of the state. MPRLP takes a bottom-up approach, facilitating, inspiring and guiding community-driven collective and individual action to reduce poverty through Gram Sabhas (village councils).
